Argon Rift Motorbike Boots

RECENTLY launched in Australia, Argon Moto is offering a range of motorcycle gear to suit local riding conditions. Among them is the Argon Rift motorcycle boot, which we’re testing here.

We have been riding with the boots since early May and have been more than impressed. And although they look more sports-oriented, thanks to the ankle and shin protection, we have found them to be a jack of all trades.

Whether riding a naked bike, sports bike or even a Harley-Davidson, the Rift feels comfortable and offers more than adequate protection. It looks stylish and being black, is nice and easy to keep clean, even if out riding in adverse conditions.

Comfort wise, the Rift ticks all the boxes. Whether taking a quick morning or afternoon ride or riding in the boot for the entire day, it feels good, both on and off the bike. They are easy to walk around in to, when you need a pitstop or refuel.

The Argon Rift boot is also water resistant, with its upper made from breathable microfibre. We didn’t get the chance to test it in a proper downpour but it did stand the test well in some light rain.

The inner boot lining is 100 per cent polyester, while the innersole is constructed from polypropylene bonded with PU felt. Argon’s Rift boot also offers additional protection on the back of the heel and features toe sliders as well.

There is a sturdy YKK nylon zipper on the inside of the boot that works well and was reliable time and time again, with a Velcro strap to ensure the zipper doesn’t come down. It also helps adjust the tightness of the boot.

Both these fastening features are located on the inner side of the boot when the rider is positioned on the bike. The quality of construction is good and we have witnessed no out of the ordinary wear or tear with all the different riding conditions we have thrown at it.

With casual boots becoming far more popular with riders these days, we found the Argon Rift boot to be an excellent middle ground between a full racing boot and a casual riding boot. It offers superior safety over casual footwear, without the race boot price tag.

These boots are among a host of gear offerings from the new Australian brand, which itself has a philosophy of delivering riding and protective gear at a reasonable price, without sacrificing key elements that make it safe and performance orientated.

With a recommended retail price of $179.95, the Argon Rift boot is available in a range of sizes. It is now available in most good motorcycle stores, and is well worth checking out if your in the market for a new set of boots.

Our test product was provided by Argon Moto. Two Wheel Addicts has not been paid to review this product.
