2024 Honda GB350

Honda’s GB350 is new to Australian roads for 2024 and bolsters Honda Australia’s already comprehensive learner approved model line up further. A classic styled roadster, the model is typical Honda being refined and competent in every way.

The 2024 GB350 takes aim at Indian manufacture Royal Enfield and their 350 range from styling to the single cylinder 348cc power plant. The GB350 follows the same user platform of everything being about the ride and ease of ride ability whether the rider be beginning their two wheeled journey or returning to two wheels.

Available in either matt blue or matt black with a well padded tan coloured seat the classic lines of the GB350 are appealing. The majority of components are offset in black with just a splash of chrome which adds a little to the urban charm of the cruiser.

Throw a leg over and the GB350 is well proportioned. As goldilocks would say nothing is too big, nothing is too small everything is just right. Seating position is upright and relaxed, there is not to much bend at the knees on the foot pegs even for this larger chap and the hand controls are simple and easy to engage with relatively no thought.

Out on the road the GB350 is everything it should be, simplistic easy going and a breeze to ride. Handling is well balanced, power is what you would expect from the single cylinder 348cc motor, in essence the GB350 is uncomplicated simplistic motorcycling which is executed perfectly from Honda.

As you would expect the 2024 Honda GB350 is no rocket ship. Although it will pull away from a set of lights or a stationary stop no hassles at all, the power will not be blowing your socks off.

The single cylinder 348cc air cooled four stroke motor produces a tad over 15kW and we managed a top speed of just on 100klm/h out of the GB350. For reference yours truly is approximately 180cm and 100kgs if your more jockey size than yours truly you may squeeze a few more kms out of the top speed.

The five speed gearbox is hassle free and all gears click into place nicely. The assisted slipper clutch is also a nice touch and should assist any learner riders with any stalling issues on take off. The drivetrain package works a treat and combined with styling will attract buyers to this model.

Rider information is displayed nicely with a smart analogue speedo that also features an inbuilt LCD display that features fuel gauge, fuel range, time and selected gear. LED lighting is also featured around the GB350 adding to the aesthetic appeal of the bike.

Fuel economy also gets a massive tick from us with the 15 litre tank providing between 400-500klms of fun in-between fills. The GB350 will excel through the inner city where this model is really aimed at, but will also provide riders the opportunity to enjoy the bike for coffee runs outside of suburbia on the weekend.

However one of the few faults we could find with Honda’s GB350 was the foot peg position. When coming to a stop we would often, ok lets be honest just about every time we came to a stop find ourselves wanting to plant our feet where the foot pegs were positioned, the end result being we would hit our shins a lot.

Suspension on the GB350 is fit for purpose and is up to the task of handling the GB350’s weight and power. Inverted telescopic forks feature on the front of the bike and allow 106mm of wheel travel whilst on the rear the twin shock setup allows 120mm of rear wheel travel.

Pulling up the 181kg mass of the GB 350 is a 310mm single disc up front whilst the rear houses a 240mm disc brake with both featuring ABS. The braking setup again is more than adequate for a bike of this power and weight.

Our only other gripe with the Honda GB350, if you could indeed call it a gripe that the execution of the bike made it lack a little character. Being Japanese built and the reliability and build quality that Honda brings to the table made the bike a little clinical to ride.

It’s without imperfections and the odd little nuances competitors have that deliver character to their offerings. It denies riders that imperfect character which riders tend to fall in love with.

Priced from $6,999 plus on road costs the 2024 GB350 is a very accessible and attractive motorcycle. With some nice touches of technology and some cool retro classic lines it should prove popular and replicate its overseas success. To sweeten the deal a little further there is also a large range of genuine Honda accessories available and the bike is backed by a 2 year unlimited kilometre warranty.
